Using Alternative viewers Options: Converters Printing

Unlike converters, which extract text from various formats and pass it to the text comparison engine, viewers can handle non-text files directly. Appropriate viewer can compare and display such files according to it's contents.

Currently only 2 additional built-in viewers are available - binary and image comparison. In future more viewers will be released, custom API for independent viewers development is also planned for future.

How to enable or disable viewer

You can toggle usage of a specific viewer by toggling appropriate checkbox in Options > Viewers page.

How to invoke viewer automatically for certain file types

When you specify file mask in viewer configuration, Compare It will try to automatically load these files to selected viewer. Note that you can choose one of preset file filters, so you can edit it in single place later.

Additionaly, you can set Autodetect file type option to try identifying file type by contents.
