Oops
Oops, during my tests I already have few projects. As result project page is not visible when no projects are defined. This is fixed in 1131 I've just uploaded.
Snapshot is a list of files in folders. This can be used to detect changes in folder between some events. It should already be implemented.
Package is a bit more complex - along with file list (like snapshot), it will keep inside also changed files itself. This is planned as a tool for syncing remote folders with additional media, without having to copy full content.

1. Start-Dialog : It would be nice, if you could let this dialog resizable,
because of long synch-path's and session/project-names.
2. Project-Mode-View :
- this View gives a good overview about the important properties of the
included sessions.
- suggestion : showing info about the filepattern, if this is excluded.
- suggestion : doubleclick or/and rightclick->contextmenu on project-item
could jump to projects-edit-dialog.
3. projects-edit-dialog :
- a disadvantage of this dialog is, to see no properties of the sessions.
- suggestion : let the lists (projects-sessions, available sessions) look
like the sessions-list in the Project-Mode-View. But I see this could be
a problem with the horizontal dialog-size. Maybe dragging the projects-
list above the sessions-lists could be a solution.

Re: Oops
I would like to know how to actually create snapshot files (pck) and packages. This feature would be very useful for me. I tried to synchronize a directory with an empty Snapshot file and it did store a list of all names in a new file, however, it did not store the names of subdirectories.grigsoft wrote: Snapshot is a list of files in folders. Any help would be appreciated.
Adam.
Snapshot...
Yes, I have used "Include subfolders" option. All the file names in the original directory with subfolders get copied to the pck file but no folder info gets stored so when I compare the created snapshot file with the original directory again I get a mismatch.grigsoft wrote:Sync'ing with empty file is a right way. Have you synchronized with "Include folders" option?
Below is a fragment of the pck file. Some of these files are in subdirectorie but the snapshot file does not record this.
Regards.
Adam.
Sample PCK file (fragment):

Snapshot
Yes, initially, whan I perform a preview all the files with subdirectories appear on one side as expected. After I press Synchronize, all the files go to = which is to be expected but then when I go back to the start dialog and press preview again the sides do not match any more as the files in the snapshot are seen all in one main directory only.grigsoft wrote:What do you see in file list - are folders listed correctly?
I hope I make some sense.
Adam.
Snapshot...
My last post was not accurate as I was answering in a hurry. The fact is that destination folders (ones in new pck file) are not listed correctly. They all show name.pck only although source folders are fine.grigsoft wrote:What do you see in file list - are folders listed correctly?
I have actually discovered that I was putting pck file as a source and actual directory as a target. I assumed that these were symmetrical. It works fine if pck file is set as target. Perhaps pck files should be blocked from the source path to avoid confusion.
My next question is how to use “package”? When I select this option nothing seems to happen.
Adam.
