Question about Synchronization of Deleted Files

Hello, I am new to synchronization and I have a question. I am synchronizing my laptop and my desktop, my question is: If I delete a file on my desktop and then synchronize my computers, will the program delete the same file on my laptop that was deleted on my desktop? Or will it just move the same file from the laptop onto the desktop, because it doesn't see the match...

Please explain how this situation works... Thanks!

It depends on synchronization mode used. If you use plain synchronization, file will be copied over, as added. However version 3 have option "Use history files", which keeps log of folders synchronized - in this case app know that files was deleted, so it will suggest deletion of pair file too.

Well, I have checked the box "Use History Files" in the settings, but it still does not detect the deleted files. It just copies the files over again to replace the removed files. Am I doing something wrong?

Can you see sync.log files in folders? They have "hidden" attribute. Note that these files are generated on first scan, so it will not detect deleted file if you have deleted it before using Synchronize It! with this option.
Simple test:
1. Switch on "Use history files" option
2. Compare folders - you don't have to copy anything
3. Delete file on one side
4. Compare folders again using "Synchronize" action - same file on other side should be marked for deletion.

That's strange. Did you compared folder with another one beforehand?
Anyway, I will prepare another update in few days, you could try it.

Yes, I tried comparing them, removing them again, comparing them again with synchronization. It still trys to replace the removed files with the copy from the other computer...

Also, still no log files

You can try this one - http://www.grigsoft.com/winsync3b.zip (650K).
Make sure you have that "Use history files" option ON in options.
