Synchronize It Bug reports rev1428:
Intermittent: Error message in TC7B3: "This function cannot be used with packed files!" when in a packed file and trying to sync with dir. Maybe TC7 bug??? Works fine when specifying file name in SI dialogue. Would be nice to have Si work with archives in TC.
Strange Bug: Program *SKIPS* a file occuring on both sides named settings.key (on one side 32 other side 74 bits in size) if one side is dated Feb 19th, 2005, time 08:34, the other today 29.Jan., irrespective of content, but they must be small. Nowhere to be seen in display. Attributes only archive.
Program Crash with following message:
"Die Anweisung in "0x004c42a6" verweist auf Speicher in "0x0000015c". Der Vorgang "read" konnte nicht auf dem Speicher durchgeführt werden.
Klicken Sie auf "OK", um das Programm zu beenden."
when trying to preview a synch of two different drives where the inclusion file is in a hidden directory (_syncapp) which has a (sometimes zero byte) file (metadata.xml)
Exclude Files Syntax: Help should make clear it is an exclamation mark , not a pipe symbol (which is erroneously shown in help section "Using SynchronizeIt! / Files Filtering"!). This caused me hours of despair and almost made me exercise your money back guarantee, since I thought exclusions do not work, until I found that you made a mistake and it is "!" and NOT "|"!
"Compare by" selection should be sticky between program starts.
When one presses the Floppy Disk button, one expects the Options and Sessions to be saved to ini file, not just when program closes. Many hours of my work have been wasted by a crash of your program, and that makes me not very happy at all!
Related: When two instances of SynchIt are running, data loss to the sessions/projects can occur, when the instance that added a lot of sessions is closed first, then the second instance which did not add a lot of changes last. Changes to the sessions should be saved to disk into the ini file, when the Floppy Disk Icon is pressed.
"Recursive Select" only works when folder are opened and is ignored when folders are closed. Should work when folders are closed for quicker and more transparent action.
Help File English correction: Log File usage / Log File: "Do not miss it to our Synchronization Sessions -" should be "Do not confuse it with our Synchronization Sessions -"
Zero length files are not shown with "0" size, it is simply left empty.
Keep up the good work and thanks for adding directory custom color in latest release. Makes a big difference.
Kind Regards,
Brahman
