compare it Version 3.8.6.1785 does not save

Hello,

trying to save the diff of two .docs in one .doc a dialog accepts to search
a directory and type in a file name, but does not save anything; my
version is licensed btw. Any hint?

Docs files can not be merged - text is extracted for comparison, so all formatting is lost.

well, I should have been more specific:
after comparing two files I get a nicely formatted diff in the
File ... Print preview option, so my hope was to be able to
save this (formatted) multiple pages not only in a print-only
file but a doc or pdf or xml or ... file.
of course the saving of the screen view as (formatted) file
would also be nice

Oh, if you wanted to have formatted diff output, there is 2 ways to do it:
1. Use HTML2 report type in File>Reports
2. Print to PDF writer, I can recommend free http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp.

Maybe in future I will add support for independent pdf generation.
