CSV Comparison (IF Lines are Interchanged in Source and Dest

Post by chhapra82 »

Hi there,
I am trying to use Compare It on CSV.
I think I am not able to properly use the tool.
The problem is that in if the line number is changed in soruce and destination. In most cases it is unable to detect the changes.
Lets say Line 5 in source is Line 8 in Destination and Line 8 in source is line 5 in destination. When I use the Comapre tool.
Instead of saying that the line exist in source and destination both ( 5 at 8 ) and ( 8 at 5 ).
It marks line 5 to modify it to make it same text as 8.
It marks line 8 to modify it to make it same text as 5.

Can you please help me using the tool.
As I am preparing a presentation on the benefits of this tool to my company within a week.

Regards

Do you have line numbers included in csv file? In this case you can try to configure CompareIt to ignore some parts of text. If you are just talking about identical moved lines, make sure "Find moved sections" is On in Options>Comparison.
