Command line option - quit if files are identical.

Post by Frank »

I use CompareIt with Visual Studio and Visual SourceSafe. I would like to see a command line option for closing CompareIt if the two files compared are identical. This would occur a short time after the message "two files are identical" is displayed.

It's not a problem to add such switch, but I'm afraid it can be not so comfortable. I assume you have tried using "Use balloon-like messages" option, in this case if files are identical you can quit with quick ESC key.

I do see the balloon text when files are identical. When I press Esc, the ballon closes. Compare It is still running. It sounds like this behavior is different than what you described.

Thanks,

Frank

Sorry, I forgot that ESC is not default key for exit. You can change keyboard mapping to exit by ESC in Options>Keyboard.

Thanks for the help. Using the ESC to exit works fine now. Since this works so well, I withdraw my request for a new command line switch.
