Problems with random excel files...show up as gibberish in t

Post by tdorsett »

We are automating the testing of our internal reporting software and we use compareIt to compare the report output between the baseline and the updated report. The reports are spit out as simple Excel files but for some reason some of the show up as gibberish in the preview pane. The MSExcel filter is on and this only happens for about 15% of the files. The funny thing is that the 2 excel files look identical to the naked eye. So I'm not sure what would cause this. I am running CompareIt 4.1

I would be happy to send you the 2 excel files privately.

Yes, please send it to support@grigsoft.com. We are using third party conversion library, so such things happens occasionally. Also, you can try this version - http://www.grigsoft.com/wincmp4bu.zip , recently we have fixed similar problem for another customer, maybe it would help yours too.
