Development blog

On the main page of your site , I see that you have (… had ?) a development blog at https://www.grigsoft.com/blog . But if I try to open it, I get: Forbidden You don't have permission to access this resource.Server unable to read htaccess file, denying access to be safe Is the development blog delet...

Re: Include AND exclude files

Hello Igor, I see… I use Synchronize It! for 15 years now and I never knew about this feature. I just checked in the documentation, it is there, but I really would have had to read it all in order to learn that. I notice one think however: The “ ! ” switch seems to apply to all wildcards located on ...

Re: More charset encodings

Hello Igor, This sounds better, thank you. I tried to add cp437 and cp850, and it works if I select it manually now. Hope having some way to not have to select it manually in the future. :) (which could be selection by extension, or by profile, or even keeping a list of files having been manually se...

Re: Include AND exclude files

… And even, if you don't want to make a too big change, a simple solution to that would be deciding that if a wildcard is prefixed by some uncommon character like “-” or “^” or “~” , this wildcard would be an opposite wildcard in regards to the previous ones (that is, excluding for an including list...

Include AND exclude files

Hello. When using Synchronize It! for comparing folders, you can define a list of wildcards for including OR excluding files for/from being part of the comparizon. grigsoft-syncit.png But why choosing between include or exclude? Sometimes I'd be happy to be able to have both, thus being able to have...

More charset encodings

Hello, It happens sometimes that I want to compare files with less usual encodings. But Compare It! encoding support seems to be very weak, and limited to what seems to be an automatic detection, for Ansi / Latin1 / Win1252 and UTF-8 . It would be great if more encodings could be supported, either b...

Re: "Ignore nothing" at line level only

Hi Igor, As far as I remember, the problem that I had is that you can have files with a lot of differences in spaces and indentation matter, but very few (or even none) if you ask to ignore them. While ignoring, these files can nevertheless synchronize perfectly at line level, but if you switch to "...

Re: SYCHRONIZE ONLY SOME SELECTED FILES IN A FOLDER

yes, probably you are right, but this is quite a rare need, as I think? Not sure of that. I would possibly use it if it was available. Anyway, you already use regular expressions elsewhere, so you already have your products linked to an existing regular expressions library. Knowing that, it shouldn...

Re: “Ignore comments” not reset by “Ignore nothing”

Hello, So in your case after you select "Ignore nothing", you still have comments ignored? Which version are you using? Hello Igor, I am using version 4.3b (in the title bar, but 4.2.2250 in the About box), which is, as far as I know, the latest beta available. The file itself is dated 2015-05-14. ...

“Ignore comments” not reset by “Ignore nothing”

Hello. In the Compare It! compare options, there is a “Ignore comments” options, which can be defined for each profile. But there is a problem that this option is expected to be reset to false if we select the "Ignore nothing" mode when viewing file during compare. This is not the case. It seems to ...

Re: SYCHRONIZE ONLY SOME SELECTED FILES IN A FOLDER

Maybe allowing the use of regular expressions in file selection could help with this ?

Regular expressions

Hello, In Compare It! , there is an interesting feature which allows to use regular expressions in comparing files. But unfortunately, this feature is not replicated in Synchronize It! I think it would be a good thing to do so. And more generally, to make Compare It! and Synchronize It! to use the s...

Compare It! and Synchronize It! development status?

Hello, There doesn't seem to have been any new changes made on Compare It! and Synchronize I! for nearly one year now. I would like to see if these products are still under development? If not, it would be really a great shame as Compare It! and Synchronize It! are really useful tools that may sill ...
