Additional file formats support Excel files comparison Zip support

In addition to Word and Excel files, Compare It! can also work with several other files types. Here you will find description and tips for various files comparison.

Support for all additional formats can be toggled in Options > Converters settings page.

How to compare PDF files

To compare PDF files you will have to download additional plug-in dll from our site. After downloading, simply unpack it to the folder where Compare It! is installed (usually C:\Program Files\Compare It!).

As with all converted files, you can not edit or merge .xls files - file comparison is read only and your abilities are limited to reviewing changes.

MIF files support

MIF (Makers Interchange Format) is a xml-based language used to describe an Adobe FrameMaker document in a text file. MIF is used to exchange information between FrameMaker and other applications. Since this format it text-based, it does not require any special processing. However multiple national characters beyound the scope of English letters are encoded so it becomes impossible to read it as plain text. Compare It! can decode such symbols to normal state for viewing, and encode it back during saving. Thus MIF files support, unlike other converters, still gives you an ability to merge and save files.
