Beta version keeps empty files locked

Postby EeOe » Sat May 30, 2009 3:56 pm

Hello!

I noticed that Synchronize It! beta version 3.4.1676 would sometimes keep empty files locked and the synchronize would fail, because the file is open.

To reproduce the problem try to synchronize two folders, that have at least one empty file with a matching file on the other side.

Are you sure this is a SI problem? Some virus scanners are (notoriously) known for this problem. They don't close a file if they can't read anything, which is ofcourse their bug. Can't speak for SI beta, but in my 9+ years experience it has never given me this issue.

Ok, thanks.

@TonHu
I am sure, cause I used Unlocker to check what process has the file locked after I got the "file cannot be used..." error from Synchronize It! :)

Yes, the problem was in new content comparison, applied to 0-size files. I have uploaded fixed version: http://www.grigsoft.com/wndsyncbu.zip.
