Possible changes to the log file for SyncIT

Post by Kieran »

I am currently evaluating version 2.81 for use in my company and would like to know if you would consider adding some extra detail to the log file generated by SynchronizeIt.

This example log file:-
Synchronize It! log started 14/11/03 08:31:33
D:\Software vs \\a00fsh01\Backup\A16KMC01\Software\
List of Modified files:
\\a00fsh01\Backup\A16KMC01\Software\0277\dist\xml\data\acPosnData.xml
\\a00fsh01\Backup\A16KMC01\Software\0277\dist\xml\schema\xmlWriter.xsd
\\a00fsh01\Backup\A16KMC01\Software\0277\src\utilities\writers\XMLWriter.java
Log closed at 14/11/03 08:31:34

gives start and end times to create the log file, in this case 1 second.
What would be more interesting to know is how long it took to perform the entire synchronization process and in addition to the list of modified files, a count of the number of files.

You are right, this is time of log open/close. But log is opened before copying starts. So only scanning time is not included.
Adding some more details coudl be a good feature - maybe total number of files, size copied etc.
