Ini file location and upgrade

Postby Russell » Wed May 31, 2006 3:22 am

1. I notice you still store the ini file in the same location as the exe file. For those people running under normal user mode you don't have permission to create and change this file.

Personal settings should be stored in the Local App Data folder as
obtained by the SHGetSpecialFolderLocation Shell API function

eg:
C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Local Settings\Application Data directory

2. If I purchased a licence now will I get a free upgrade to version 4 when it comes out?

Thank you for feedback!
1. Users in normal users accounts can use Compare It! with registry storage - see http://www.grigsoft.com/wincmp3/help/sources/html/cmp_configurationfile.htm.

2. Yes, v4 should be ready in less then a year, so you will have it.
