[closed] Last char gone in Unicode files without ending CRLF
Usually, if you compare two files with the only difference being an extra end of line before EOF, CompareIt 3.8.1.1652 will correctly highlight that line. It seems, though, that with UTF-8 files you may lose the last character of the file withough the extra end of line. Please check http://home.arco...

Can't change profile in this forum!
After I click "Submit" in the profile windows, I get the message "Anti-spam code does not match. Please try again. Thank you!"
There's no place to enter any anti-spam code. I've tried in Opera 8.01 and FireFox 1.0.4.
Please fix this,
Dan

Fatal bug: CompareIt! not binary clean: 0x00's replaced
With either CompareIt Unicode 3.8.1.1652 or CompareIt 8-bit 3.8.1633, with no "Ignore" options set, compare the a.db to b.db from http://home.arcor.de/dandv/bugs/compareit/binary_unclean.zip and merge the "virtual lines" at the top of a.db over the text in b.db. Open b.db in any hex editor ( Necroma...

[closed] Can't select character(s) in CompareIt Unicode 3.81
1. Using either fixed font (Courier New, which BTW should be set as default instead of Courier, because Courier New supports a lot more international characters) or variable font, when you select ONE character from one of the files, using the mouse, and right click over the character intending to co...

Look in the 2-line comparison zone. This only happens when "Use fixed font" is unchecked.

[closed] Can't scroll past difference, then WinCmp crashes
http://home.arcor.de/stasis/cantScrollPast.zip CompareIt3.8.exe crash1 crash2 (NOT the other way around) CompareIt! will go to the first difference and possibly crash. If it doesn't crash, keep pressing PageDown but you will never be able to scroll past the difference. I admit, the difference is alm...

[closed] WinCmp never stops when comparing these two files
The files are at [censored] and are password protected due to legal issues. grigsoft, please contact me for the password at dandv at arcor dot de. After launching wincmp.exe a.xml b.xml, CompareIt! fills the comparison progress bar and then enters an idle (?) loop. If you press Escape, the caption o...

Increase font size with Ctrl+Mouse roll
Could this feature be implemented in CompareIt! ? I frequently have to show a comparison to visually impaired colleagues and I keep going to Options -> Editor -> Fixed font (or Font, it depends). In MSWord, Ctrl+Mouse roll is really handy for me and these persons: we can quickly switch between norma...

Complaining about missing /i=nonexistent.ini files
I think it would be useful if CompareIt! complained about not finding the username.ini file passed via te /i= parameter. Especially because it's not very clear where CompareIt! will look for this file if it doesn't include a path (in the current directory? in the executable's directory? etc.) Right ...

To find better alternative, I have added Options/"Lines Comparison"/"Min chars to match" - set it to 3-5 and you will not see single same characters highlighted. Let me know whether you find this feature useful. Adding "By word" differencing is not a problem (in fact it is done internally as a part...
